The Industry Data Exchange Association is a consortium of manufacturer's and distributors, dedicated to increasing market efficiency in the Electrical Industry.

Using the Industry Data Warehouse (IDW) and the ExtraNet, members can retrieve electronic versions of manufacturer's catalogs.

The IDW can best be described as a single database containing product information from all member companies. The "ExtraNet" is effectively a private internet, that allows the low cost exchange of EDI business documents.
