Did You Know...
That Liquid Tight Connectors Can Be Used For Class 1, Div 2 Locations
February 15, 1999

The National Electrical Code (NEC) section 501-16 (b), exception 'a', will permit the use of liquidtight flexible metal conduit and liquidtight connectors to be the sole equipment grounding conductor in Class 1, Division 2 locations. However, strict requirements must be met:
- Conduit and connectors must be UL listed.
- Conduit cannot exceed 6 feet in length.
- Overcurrent protection in the circuit is limited to 10 amperes or less.
- It supplies other than power utilization loads.
Always use Bridgeport's UL listed Liquidtight Connectors.
Note: Above comments are not an interpretation of the National Electrical Code or local regulations. Always consult your local electrical inspector for requirements in your area.
