Engineering, Idea Central Submissions
On behalf of Bridgeport Fittings, Inc. (at times, the "Company"), we would like to thank you for considering the submission of your new product/product improvement to us for review. However, before we can initiate our review and evaluation of your disclosure, we must have you confirm, by checking the box below, your agreement that your disclosure as regards such product/product development is being made voluntarily and without any promises on the part of the Company, except as in the letter agreement expressly set forth, and that our receipt and review of your disclosure does not establish a confidential relationship between you and the Company. However, we will agree to refrain from any public disclosure of your product/product improvement for a period of six months from the date of your disclosure to us. Of course, this restriction will not apply to any information which is already in the public domain, which becomes public through no fault of the Company, which is or has been disclosed to us by a third party, or which was known to us prior to your disclosure.
If you decide to submit your disclosure to us, you understand that Bridgeport Fittings, Inc. is under no obligation or liability to you of any nature, except as in this letter agreement expressly set forth. You agree that any rights you may have under your disclosure are solely based upon any patent rights you may possess. Furthermore, Bridgeport Fittings, Inc. has no obligation to adopt your suggestion in any way or to make any payment to you based on or related to your disclosure to us.
Since our own employees are actively working in developing new products, our company may already be aware of one or more of the elements of the disclosure you are making. We also must have your assurance that you are free to disclose your development to us; and, in this regard, you represent that the subject product/product improvement is entirely your property and proprietary to you alone and that you have all rights on an exclusive basis to said product/product improvement. Furthermore, although Bridgeport Fittings, Inc. will attempt to return your disclosure to you, our company assumes no obligation to return your submission to you and, as a result, you understand that any submission you make, which may include, but is not limited to, drawings, documents, models, samples, designs, etc., should be duplicate copies.
In order to protect any rights you may have in your new product/product improvement, we recommend that a patent application be filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office prior to submitting your disclosure to us. It is our understanding that a provisional patent application can be filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office at a nominal cost which could be of assistance to you, but this is something you should discuss with your own professional advisors.
